New resident OHV decals, or renew your existing one
Are you in need of an Arizona OHV sticker for your off-highway vehicle? If so, it’s time to visit Arizona Motor Vehicle Express. Whether you need to renew your existing decal or get a new one, let our fast, friendly staff assist you.
In the State of Arizona, all off-highway vehicles designed by the manufacturer primarily for use over unimproved terrain, and weighing 2,500 pounds or less, are required to display a valid OHV decal when operated on public and state trust lands in Arizona. This applies to both residents and non-residents whose OHVs are being operated in Arizona.
What is an Arizona OHV sticker or decal?
The OHV decal is purchased every year to allow your OHV to operate on public and state trust lands in Arizona. It goes in the upper left corner of the license plate. The fees collected are OHV user fees. The OHV decal is not the same as OHV registration: registration is required for an OHV to be “street legal” (legally operated on paved and maintained roads and streets).
Which vehicles qualify?
Off-highway vehicles are motor vehicles not suitable for normal travel on roads, such as ATVs, UTVs, trail motorcycles and dirt bikes. Only OHVs meeting both of these criteria can get an Arizona OHV decal:
- Designed by the manufacturer primarily for travel over unimproved terrain.
- An unladen weight of 2,500 pounds or less.
Motor vehicles like pickup trucks, SUVs, or cars do not need (and will not be able) to obtain an OHV sticker.
Resident OHV decals
Residents of Arizona can purchase an OHV decal for $25 per year (plus a processing fee) through ADOT’s Motor Vehicle Division offices statewide, or through an authorized third-party MVD service provider like Arizona Motor Vehicle Express.
Non-resident OHV decals
Non-residents getting street-legal registration through the MVD buy their decal through the MVD, which includes us. Non-residents who do not need street-legal registration buy theirs online through an Arizona Game and Fish Department portal account.
